Hot Bread Kitchen's Nan-e Barbari (Persian Flat Bread) (18.5)
This was a very straight forward bread bake. The dough was easy to assemble. No problems rising, forming, or baking.
I was shocked at the lack of ingredients here: flour, water, yeast, and salt? So simple. And absolutely no sugar. That's why I decided to go ahead and add a few extra things to the topping (salt and garlic) to enhance flavor. I'm glad I did. I think the bread would have been almost totally tasteless otherwise.
I did LOVE the texture. Chewy interior, crisp exterior. Yum.
Honestly, I'm not sure if I made this correctly, since I've never had it before, but I thought it was pretty delicious, if a bit lacking in flavor. It would be amazing as a sourdough...
